EXPORT TO NORFOLK ISLAND., BANANAS PROPOSED AS FOOD.*. A shipment of three large white? pigs was sent to. Norfolk island by the Government steamey Maui: Pomare on August. 23. The pigs- are the progeny of some imported from Canada last December by Mr C. W.. Anderson, Kohiinara.ina, and were:consigned to a fruit-farmer at Norfolk Island, Mr P. A. Davids,on.. w bo was until recently fr.uß-giftwing in Otago. His idea is to feed the pigs largely on bananas, an,d should the experiment prove successful he intends to. in-cr.ea.-e considerably the present stock. ■Mr. Anderson also consigned four • large white pigs, to Wellington! to beshipped by the Manuka to Melbourne.,. , These pigs, which are said to be tin?’ "* flnst exported to Australia since abqut ■ 1914, have been bought by Mr Trevor/ Harvey, an Australian breeder.
