'“There were at March 31, 1928, .67 probationer dental nurses undergoing training at the department’s training school in Wellington. Of these, 32 are in the second yean of .their, training, and 35 .are new appointees. who have only recently taken up duty. Twenty-five dental nurses who completed their tr,ajning during March 'have all been allo,ca,ted to school dental clinics in various parts of the Dominion. c NEW CLINICS. “Since March 31, 19>27, new clinics have been established at the following places: Grey Lynn, Pa.eroa, Taura,nga, Cambridge, Te Kuiti, Eltham, Fielding, St. Albans, Ashburtp.it, Dunedin South, Otautau. OPERATIONS DURING 1927. “The following is a summary of the operations performed from January 1 to December 31, 1927, by dental officers. dental nurses, and probationers in training: Fillings, 116,916 ; extractions. 66,523 ; minor operations, 76,656 ; total operations, 260,095. Of the above treatment the dental nurres in the field, now numbering 61, have performed the following : Fillings, 79,517 ; extractions, 48,230’; minor ■operations, 51,802 ; total . operations, 179,549. The- tctal treatment performed by dental nurses since first ■ nurses qualified in May, 1923, is l as follows : Fillings, 164,332; extractions. 106,309 ; minor operations, 119,397 ; totafl operations, 390,038.”
