5 PLAINS LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The Hauraki Plains Ladies’ Hockey Association met at Ngatea last night, Mr C. W. Harris presiding over Messrs J. Miller-, H. Kerby, H. L. Rerney, D. Blythe, A. McMillan, E. R. Alexander, K. Clare, R. C. Abel, E. Simpson, and ■M. Canning (secretary). REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. It was decided to send two. teams to Auckland on August 25 to play the Mt. Efien Club, and alsq to send a team to Tlia,mes to play for the Johnston Cup on the same day if suitable. Club delegates were instructed to ascertain the players available. DISCUSSION ON RULE.

The matter jvas discussed at length, members expressing the opinion tW it was peculiar if tlie team which took the field short of players thereby received l an advantage. It wa.s decided to obtain a ruling on tlie matter from the parent body, in the event, of this ruling being contrary to that given by the referee in the Waitakaruru-High School match On Saturday last, the match will be replayed as a poiot of justice t.o the School team, which might thereby qualify as runners-up in the competition. ■ FINANCE. With the object of raising funds (to liquidate the debt in the touting fund it was decided to hold a ball at Turua next mqnth. L VISIT OF TE" AROHA TEAM. The Ngatea Club was given permisn sion to play the Te Aroha. team at Ngatea on Saturday next. SECRETARYSHIP. The resignation of the secretary, Mr M. Canning, was accepted with regret, and it decided to record in the minutes the appreciation of his services. The Rev. B. R. Alexander was appointed in his stead.
