PAEROA B DEFEATS HIKUTAIA, Tiie Paeroa Ladies Hockey Club 'had a, busy afternoon on Saturday, when the A and B teams both played friendly matches at the local domain.

The first game was played between the Paeroa A team and a. Kqpuat'ahi eleven-. The match was fast and willing, but the fielding and hard-hitting tactics of the visitors proved too good for the local eleven, whoc nevertheless, gave a. good exhibition of hockey.. The game ended four to nil in favour of the visitors. Goals were netted by Misses A. Candy (3) and E; Candy. The Rev. W. G. H. \Veado_n was referee.

The newly formed Hikutaia ladies’ ■club was seen on the field at Paeroa for the first time, and considering that the majority of the players a,re only beginners they played a very creditable game, a pd with a little more luck, jvould have won the game, which resulted in a win for PaerOa Bl by two goals to ope.
