ROLLER MILLS SHIELD.
COMPETITION AT PAEROA.
SATISFACTORY ENTRIES.
Owing to the fact that tlie Auckland Primary Schools’ Rugby Football Union has decided that it cannot stage the. Northern Roller Mills Challenge Shield competition this year, the Thames Valley Primary Schools' -Union (holders of the shield) has decided to undertake' £he competition, which, will be held at Paeroa, commencing on August 21. •
Mr J. E. Insley,'the local secretary, advises that he has alrea.dy received three entries from Auckland and one each from Manukau, South Auckland, Thames Valley, .and! Waipa, while it is expected that entries will be received from the King Country, Hamilton, Whangarei, Rotorua, and Thames unions.
The significance -of the fixture- can be the better imagined when it. js realised' that there will be upwards -<n 200 boys ip the - town, during the greater part of thie week, exclusive of officials and- other visitors. The matter of obtaining accommodation for such a large number is in/itself a big. item, irrespective of arranging entertainment for the boys when, they »re off the playing field.
