Mr G. P. Shephard, chief executive officer, ’’Native Lands Department, Wellington, was in Paeroa yesterday.
Mr P. C. Furley, of Auckland, one time town clerk of Paer.oa, is; at present on- a brief visit to the town.
Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., parsed through Paeroa yesterday en route to Waihi to attend a presentation to Mr. M. Paul, inspector of mines, who. has retired.
Mr. A. A. Ruston, who wag until a few month 13 ago a member of the local Post and Telegraph staff, haft been transferred from Pukekohe to Wajtakaruru, where he has bee.n appointed postmaster.
Mr W. Bryce Gillespie, who was on the staff of the Ngatea District High School in 19'26 a,s secondary department tea.che'r., is now on a. visit to England. He hopes to be back in New Zealand for the opening of school next year.
