Mu D. L. Calwell, sergeant in charge Of the Waihi police district, is at present on annual leave. Sergea.nt S. C. Clist, of Auckland, is relieving a,t Waihi.
At a social gathering of parishioners at Thames the vicar of Thames, the Rev. Robertshawe, was the recipient of a handsome silver tray to mark the occasion of his approaching marriage. The Kopu parishioners also presented' the vicar with a massive black two-tier, fruit centret-pfece and a cut glass breakfast cruel.
