YOUNG MAN INJURED.

COLLISION WITH CAR. ACCIDENT ON PUKE ROAD. Still another collision, took place on Puke Road yesterday evening shortly before 6 o’clock, when a young man, Mr. A. C. Shergold, of Wai hi. met with serious injuries. IL appeal's that Mr Shergold, who is employed by' the Public Works Department, was riding a bicycle from Paeroa to the Puke, and a large motorcar, driven by Mr J. J- Fleming.. Paeroa, was returning from the Pune. Mr Fleming, who had the lights of the car burning, noticed the cyclist some distance away, coming towards the ear. The driver pulled off to his correct side of the road, but when almost up to the car the cyclist swerved sharply right, across the path of the vehicle. It was impossible to avoid a collision, although Mr Fleming lessened the impact by swerving., and the cyclist struck the front portion of the car sideways on with considerable force.

The cyclist sustained serious injuries to- liis head ami also cuts and bruises.

After receiving surgical attention the injured man was placed on board t'D Waihi train and taken out to the Wailr Hospital. The scene of the accident was opposite Mr J. Rush’s residence, a few yards beyond the intersection of Hill Street, where two accidents occti'ic.l previously.
