PAEROA BRANCH OF UNION.

MONTHLY MEETING.

The monthly meeting of the Paei'oa branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held at the Centenary Hall on Wednesday last, Mrs Hubbard, the president in the chair. There was ( a good attendance.

The Rev. W. B. Pickering addressed the meeting, his subject being “What the white ribbon stands for.” The address was; of great interest, ajifi a hearty vote of thanks was accorded. It was. reported! that Mrs A- E. Wilson, the olders member, had died, and a standing vote of sympathy was passed to the relatives.

It was ; resolved that a letter of goodwill should be sent to Mrs Searle, who ha,s removed to Greymouth. Dainty afternoon tea was. provided by two members.
