LAST SATURDAY’S MATCHES.

PAEROA A DEFEATS WAIHI.

On Saturday afternoon the Paeroa ladies’ A team defeated the Waihi ladies’ team at Waihi by three goals to t.wb. The game; was fast am} closely contested, and at half-time the scores were two 10.11. The second half was a really good exhibition of hockey, and it was not until the closing stages of t'he match that- Miss Brow’n scored the winning goal for Paeroa.

Goals were netted for Paeroa by Misses E. Brown (2) .and Shand) while Misses T. Turner a,nd M. McMahon were the scorers for Waihi. Mr. Dunston was referee.

GAMES ON THE PLAINS.

PLAY BY THE LADIES.

Only two of the Hauaki Plains lad’es’ competition games were; played on Saturday. At Koptiarahi the prevalence of influence caused the postponeriieiit of the A v. B ma,tch. At. Nga-' tea the High School team beat the Turua team by two goals to nil, V. Bertejlsien and Miss K. McKerchar being the scorers.

At Kerepeehi the Ngatea ladies’ team was beaten by five to two. Miss D. Courtney scored three and Mrs Callender and Miss E. Thomson one each for Kerepeehi, while Ngatea’s two goals were netted by Mi® E. McPherson. Waitokaruru had .a bye in the competition and had arranged a match with Thames-, but the the gam® was abandoned on account of 'influenza.
