NGATEA. HALL SOCIETY. The Ngatea Hall Society met on Wednesday evening;. Mr G. T. Davidson presiding over Messrs W. J. Clare, J. King, L. Buckingham, J. Darlington, and the. secretary, Mr S. Tarver. It was decided to purchase seven forms similar to the ones .at present in us®, the tender of Messrs Le M:anquais, Lamb, and Co., Paeroa, being accepted. In connection with the piping and filling of the drain on the road frontage, the tender of a Thames firm for the supply of 3ft pipds, was accepted. It was decided to obtain quotations fdr installing, the pipes and for filling in the drain. It was also resolved to approach the School Committee for spoil for the filling, and. that a deputation should wait on the County Council witli a request 'that it provide the metal for the parking place. The chair,man and secretary were deputed to finalise the matter. The matter of procuring a piano for the. 'hall was deferred pending further investigations, the chairman and secretary being .authorised to conclude negotiations in a certain direction if reports were satisfactory. The financial statement for the month of June showed receipts totalling £23 Ils 'lOd and expenditure, including onc.twelfth of the annual charges, £l2 7s sdt The bank overdraft stood at £6l 19s 9d, and there were accounts d.ue for. .hall hire totalling £l2. Accounts amounting to £6 12s 6d were passed for payment. The committee granted the use of the hah free for an entertainment in a,id of Sister Esther’s fund, the arrangements to be made by the secretary.
