Tlic Rev. W. G. H. Weadon, of StPaul’s Church, and Mr R- W. Evans left-Paeroa on Monday for the purpose of attending-the annual meeting of the Waikato Diocesan Synod at Hamilton.
Captain L- G. Goss, N.Z.S-C., 'lias received notification that lie has pass.ed the examination for entrance to a military staff college at Camberley, and leaves for England early in October. Captain Goss ha,s been S’taff officer in charge of the No. 2 regimental district, with headquarters at Paeroa, since the beginning of this year.
Messrs L. B. Campbell, chairman of the No. 2 District Highways Council, J. Wood, inspecting engineer, and A. Tyndall, engineer, Main Highways Council, were at Paeroa yesterday and conferred with the Ohinemuri County Council on main -highway matters.
Mr D. Elliott, assistant at the Ngatea D’strict High- School, has received a permanent .appointment at Hokianga, and will be replaced Mr A. JSimpsjon.
