WAITAKARURU DAIRYING.

CHEESE FACTORY DESIRED. A CARTAGE PROBLEM. Some measure of unanimity among the farmers of tlie Waitaka.ruru district having been arrived at. the proposal to have the N.Z. Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., Greet, a cheese factory may become an accomplished fact. At a meeting of settiers; on Tuesday evening 780 cows were guaranteed on condition that suitable arrangements could be made for the cartage of milk in the sarnie manner as cream was now carted, and it was anticipated that a further 200 cows could 'be secu'red. However, sonie difficulty was .anticipated in arranging the bulk cartage of milk, as it was realised that it must all be brought to the factory in a short time to enable the pasteuriserto be kept going continuously. This factor and the possible cost are to be investigated by a committee, comprising Messrs C. W. Parfitt. A. Otter, ami A. H. McClean, who. will also canvass for further suppliers. Provided satisfactory qn angements can be made a four.vat factory will be warranted, but provision will be made for an extra vnt when, required. Tiie factory will be situate. | near the canal, and if everything progresses smoothly it will be in operoation by November.
