PERSONAL.
Mr J- Hislop, C.V.0., 0.8. E., Undersecretary to the Department of In. ternal Affairs, and Chief Electoral Officer, paid a brief visit to Paeroa yesterday on electoral business. He left by the evening trah'n for Auckland.
Prior to leaving Paeroa on Saturday last, on transfer to the Auckland office of the Public Works Department, Mr S. A. Shepharfi wa? presented with a. founta/n-pen by Mr O. G. Thornton, resident engineer, on behalf of the local staff. Mr Shephard’s position at Paeroa has been filled by Mr E. M. Fyson, of the Auckland office.
