JHedge’s residence. There was also- approximately the same frontage to the unformed portion of Arney Street. The wlrole block contained nearjy seven acres, and it was a magnificent piece of level land situated (in a most convenient position, and .as, an tional recreation ground it should prove of great value to posterity. The section in question was of considerably greater value than the price at which it wa,s offered to the council.
The Mayor moved: “That the offer be accepted, and on behalf of the pebple of Paeroa this council record and express to Mr Bush its most sincere thanks for his generous aiid publicspirited offer.” Tlie resolution', which was seconded by Cr. H. J. Hare, was carried unanimously.
