MONTHLY''*MEETING AT NGATEA. The executive of the Farmers’ Veterinary Club met at Ngatea last evening, Mr C. W. Schultz presidling over Messrs E. W< Martin, G. Phillips, R. Burke, McCarthy, McCraith, and C. A. Gibson (secretary). MEMBERSHIP. Four new members were. enrolled .and four resignations were accepted. It was reported that some settiers B had secured the surgeon’s services by false pretenses in that they hail promised to sign the membership form but had not done so. By reason of this the surgeon was giving atten. tion to noir-members, and was thereby ~ himself liable to dismissal.* FINANCIAL POSITION. The secretary reported that there was £l()-odd in the bank and ac- !; counts owing totalled £57 8s 6d, These accounts were passed for payment when funds permitted. After considering the outstanding subscription accounts instructions were given to baud certain of them to the solicitors for collection. SECRETARY’S SALARY. j In accordance with the recojhmendation from the general meeting the salary of the secretary was increased to £26 a year, the motion being carried on the chairman’s casting vote. CAR FOR SURGEON. / The matter of ,a new car for the ■surgeon was brought up by the chairman, who pointed out that unless some assistance was given the surgeon would not have any means of transport. It might be possible for the club to buy a car and deduct the cost from his salary over a period of time, as had been done wlUh the previous car. Messrs McCra'th, McCarthy, and ' Maron were appointed to go into the matter and report to the next meeting. SURGEON’S REPORT. t The surgeon, Mr J. Costello, reported that during the month of May he • bad made 44 visits to 32 members. On it being painted out that service had been given to non-members it was decided that a list of members be supplied to the surgeon, with definite infc. structions that they were the only settlers to be given service.
