PLAIN® LADIES’ ASSOCOATION. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. The Hauraki Plains Ladies’ Hockey Association met at Ngatea last even, ing, Mr C. W. Harris presiding over Messrs H. L. Berney, J. H. Nicholson, G. Blyth, J. Miller, H. Kerby, R. CAlexander, R. C. Abel, and M. Canning (secretary). PROTEST UPHELD. The Ngatea High School team protested against the action of the Ko. puarahi B team playing A team play, e'rs. z The protest was upheld, and it was decided that the match be replayed on ; a date to be approved by the asso. d’at ion. To meet future cases where a club has entered A and B teams it was decided that each team register eleven players and that, when an emergency has played three games for any one team she automatically becomes a registered member of that team. COUNTRY WEEK. The secretary reported that so far three socials had been held to raise funds for the expenses of the Country Week tour, and that further functions had been arranged. The association was indebted to Mr J. Neate for his services. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Neate. Arrangements in connection with the transportation and accommodation of the representative team which will go to Auckland to take part in the Country Week tournaments were discussed at length and will be finalised at a future meeting. / It was decided that pllayers, not selected in the team be permitted to travel with tlife party provided they
paid their, own expenses., The association would endeavour to arrange accommodation for these people, but early application was necessary. NEXT SATURDAY’S MATCH. The selectors, Messrs. C. W. Harris, R. C. Alexander, and E. Campbell, submitted the following teams for the Possibles v. Probables match at Ngatea on Saturday next:— Possibles.—R. Harris, Mrs : Hira, N. Peters, C. Hegh, M. Harris, S. Hudson, M. Beaver, Edna Candy, A. Peters, F. Berney. E. McPherson. Emergencies, M. Nicholson, I. Donaghy, Mrs Colander, L. Aberhart, P. Norcott. Probables. —Mrs Hands, M. Miller, Mrs T. O’Ca.rrollil, G. Harrjs, M. Harwood, B. Benny, N. Fisher, E. Wheeler, D. Wade, A. Candy, Mrs Greathead. Emergencies : J. Rountr,ee, I. Stevens, M. EMiott, G. Hamilton, Mrs Kidd, R. Smith.
The selectors stated that there were twb or three of the High School team Who had earned their places in the team, but they had not been selected on account of their, inability to travel to Auckland. As a mark of recognition of their merit three High School .playeri had been included as emerfor the game on Saturday. Mr; M. Canning was appointed referee. The Possibles team will wear the Waitakaruru colours and the Probables the Kopuarahi colours. A collection will be taken lip on the field. CHALLENGE MATCH. It was decided to' accept the Thames Association’s challenge to play the representative team at Thames on June 23. TRANSFER. The transfer of Miss B. Hunter from the Waitakaruru club to the High School club was approved.
