WEDDINGS.
JESNEY—GUNN. At the Presbyterian Church, Paeroa, on Wednesday evening, -May 23rd, the marriage took place of Marjorie Ellen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs. Wm. E. Gunn, of Paeroa, Redvers. second so-n of Mr and Mrs C. I. Jesney, of Waikino. The church had been prettily decorated for the occa : - sion by friend® of the brile. The ceremony wa,s performed by the Rev. J. Lowden. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white chenille embossed, georgette over white satin, draped, and caught at left side with diamante-buckle. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place 'with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bou. quet of pale pink and .white chrysanthemums and rosebuds. Mis'® Dorothy Gunn (sister of the bride) and Miss Else Jesney (the bridegroom’s sister) acted as bridesmaids. They were both dressed alike in Victorian frocks- of turquoise shot taffeta with panels; of -ilver >liace. Pale pink tulle formed then- head-dresses, and they carried bouquets; of pale - pink and white chrysanthemums. Mr Joseph N. Jesney (the bridegroom's brother) was best man, and Mr Geoffrey W. Gunn (brother of the bride) was groomsman.
After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Soldiers’ Club, where about sixty sat down to breakfast. When the bride- and bridegroom left later for the North Mrs Jesney was wearing a wine-coloured repp frock, fawn coat, a.nd hat to tone. WELLS—BROWN. The marriage was, solemnised tit the Methodist Church, Paeroa, on Wednesday, June 6th, 1928, of Myra, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs JT. Brown, of Paeroa, to Roy Isdale, son of Mrs and the late Mr F. JWell®, of Paeroa. The ceremony wa.s performed by the Rev. W- B» Pickering. The bride ivas given away by her father, and wore ,a frock of ivory ring velvet with pearl and silver trimmings. The long train, lined. 1 with shell pink georgette, was caught on the shoulder, with posies af ora.nge blossoms. Her Honiton la,ce veil w,as held in place with a silver coronet finished with orange blossoms.. She carried a shower bouquet of roses and maidenhair fern. Miss Birdie Gibb attended the bride .and w;a|s- attired in a frock of sea green georgette trimmed with medall/'ons of silver lace. A band of green ribbon and tulle formed the head/dress, and S * lG carr’ed a bouquet to tone. A string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom, was also worn- Miss Gloria, Stock and Miss Kathleen Shephard; Auckland, acted as flower girls, both wearing dresses of shell pink georgette, with frilled skirts. Their head-dresses were of pink forget-me-nots finished with posies of tulle to maltch. Beth carried bouquets, and wore gold armlets, the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr V. Carrick was best man.
After the ceremony the- guests, were entertained in the Centenary Hall by the bride’s parents. Mr and Mrs Wells, left later by car for an extended tour, of tihe North island.
