TAURANGA RAILWAY.
ALTERATION TO TIME-TABLE. THAMES TRAINS AFFECTED. For twenty-nine and a-half years an express has left Auckland for Thames on six day’s a week. After Saturday next that train will, leave no more and the line between Paeroa and Thames will be classified as a branch. The main line will, in. future, be from Auckland to Tauranga, and next month it will be extended to Tanea.tua. Meantime, however, the Auckland, -East Coast main trunk express will! run i’-ght through to Taneatua. The new express.- will take its departure from Auckland at 8.35 .a.m., and is scheduled to arrive at Tauranga at 5.18 p.m. and Taneatua at 8.25 p.m. Passengers, for Thames will arrive Paeroa at 1.56 p.m. and a train wild leave for Thames at 2.20. reaching its destination at 3.28. An express will leave Tauranga for Auckland daily at 7.40 a.m., arriving at 4.53 p.m. A connecting train from Thames will reach Paeroa. at 10.42 a.m., enabling passengers, to connect with the northbound express, leaving at 10.58. So far as express trains are concerned, every endeavour will be made by the department ,to obviate passengers changing trains. Carriages containing Thames parsenrers will be taken off one train and attched to another.
An ordinary train will leave Taneatua for Frankton Junction at .11 a.m. dajly, nd will, arrive in time for passengers to connect with the FranktonAuckland train, arriving at Auckland at 11.2 pan. The train will, arrive at Paeroa at 5.20 p.m., and will leave again at 5.50, arriving at Frankton at 8.8. A train from Thames will reach Paeroa at 5.14, enabling Thames passengers to connect.
In order to fit in with the new timetable slight alterations will be made to other services.-. A new train will leave Mercer for Frankton Junction at 8.55 a.m. daily to pick up passen. gers at intermediate stations. This train, will reach Frankton at 11.14 a.m., in time to connect with the south-bound Tauranga express.
The present 8.40 a.m. tr-ain from Waiuku to Paerata on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will now leave at 8.30 a.m., thu® connecting with the Tauranga express at PaerataSlight alterations will be made on the Frankton Cambridge branch service amji on the Paeroa-Waihi line.
