MOTOR COLLISION.
CAR AND LORRY DAMAGED.
ACCIDENT IN BELMONT ROAD.
Shortly before 5 o’clock on Friday evening a collision occurred' between a. two-seater motor-car and a Ifght lorry in Belmont Road, Paeroa, at the Hughendon Street intersection. The car, owned and driven by Mr W. Goodwin, Hamilton was turning out of Hughendon. Street into Belmont Road when the lorry, driven by Mr N. Williams, of Mill Road, Paeroa, was passing along the middle of Belmont Road; Each driver saw the other, and •made an effort to avoid a collision, but the car struck the lorry on the side and crumpled up the mudguard and left-hand side front wheel with a resounding crash, the bumper on the car being hedged under the chassis of the lorry. Mr William® had his daughter sitting beside" him, but fortunately no one was hurt, as both vehicles were travelling very slowly at the time. The lorry was badly damaged, and the mudguard, bumper, and ojie lamp of the car were ttvisted and bent, making <it necessary to tow 1 both vehicles to a garage.
