A letter received at the last meeting of the .Elstow, Drainage BQar.d from the. board’s solicitor with regard to the Tc Awaiti loan of £6OO. stated ‘j that the loan was for additional wo'.k s in the same area and could not be ex- ; pended for any purpose other than that for which it was borrowed. There was a penalty of £lOO on each member consenting to unlawful expend! turc. If the board was; unsuccessful in getting the money from the Dairy Company he thought he could get it himself shortly.
