DOUBLE WEDDING.

SMITH-TA 1 LOR, SMITH— TAYLQIL

A pretty double wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Paeroa, on Tuesday, May .1, .w.hen.*Miss.es Iris and Clarice Taylor, daughters, of Mr and Mrs G.'ll. Taylor, of Paeroa, were married respectively to Mr William L. Smith, son of Mr and Mrs W. Smith, of Hamilton, and Mr Lawrence G, Smith, son of Mr and Mrs W. Smith, of Paeroa. The brides were given, away by their father.. The. Rev. Father Dunphy performed the ceremony, and Mrs W. Pennell played the wedding march. Miss Iris M. Taylor wore a frock of white brocaded satin with georgette sleeves, and silver sprays, on shoulder and waistline. Her silk tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white il'Olwers. Tile bride was attended' by Mrs H. C. Bowden, of Wellington (sister of the bridegroom), as matron of honour, who, Was attired, in a frock of salmon pink crepe de chine and silver turban finished with silver and pink rosettes. Her bouquet was of pale mauve chrysanthemums. Miss L. Bruce, of Northcote, as bridesmaid, was, attired in mauve crepe de chine, and wore a s'lvey turban with silver and rose rosettes,. She carried a'bouquet of mauve chrysanthcmunis. The flower girl, Miss Vida Harold (cousin of the bride), wore pale .green crepe de chine with tulle furban to match, anfii carried a basket of flowers. Mr D. Smith (brother of the bridegroom) was best man, anil Mr E. Taylor (the bride’s brother) was groomsman.

Smith (sister of the biidegroom) were in attendance. Miss Tierney wore a frock of mauve crepe de chine with silver turban finished with silver and mauve rosettes, and her bouquet was composed of mauve chrysanthemums? Miss Smith’s dress was of salmon pink crepe de Chinle, silver turban with silver and pink rcsettes, and her, bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums. Miss Clara Harold (cousin of tlie bride) acted as flower girl, wearing pale green cr.epe de chine and turban and carrying a basket of dowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr C. H. Taylor (brother of the bride) as best man and Mr VSmith (bridegroom’s brother) as groomsman'. After tlie ceremony a reception was hi Id at tlie Soldiers’ Club; where about a hundred' guests sat down to breakfast. T.he hall had been, beautifully decorated for tlie occasion with streamers of white, pink, and mauve, two white wedding bells being suspended over the head.s ef the brides.
