HERD-TESTING.
HAURAKI PLAINS GROUPS. AVERAGES FOR MARCH. The following are the averages for the month of March of cows tested by the N.Z. Co-operative Herd Testing Association in the Hauraki Plains groups;—
Ngatea.—The highest herd-, with 77 cows, averaged 25.971 b fat; the lowest herd, with 60 cows, averaged 14.301 b fat. The highest cow in the group produced '53.581b fat, and the lowest cow 4.091 b.
Netherton.—The highest herd, with 52 cows, averaged 2'5.481b fat.; the lowest herd, with 42 cows, averaged 12.471 b fat. The highest cow produced 54.721 b and the lowest cow 3.121 b. Patetonga.—The highest herd, with 27 cows, averaged 26.411 b fat; the lowest herd, with I's cows, averaged 11.711 b fat. The highest cow produced 4:5.571b, and ' the- lowest cow 4.301 b.
Shelly Beach. —The highest herd; with 47 cow&, averaged 27.361 b £at; the, lowest herd, with 40' cows, aiveraged 20ilb fat. The highest cow produced 41.201 b and the lowest cow B.BBlb.
Turua.—The highest herd, with 23 cows, averaged 29.981 b fat ; the lowest herd, with 36 cows, averaged 18.121 b fat. The highest cow produced 45.3111 b and the lowest cow 4.931 b. Waitakaruru.—The highest' herd, with 47 cows, averaged 26.341 b fat; the lowest herd, with 27 cows, avert aged 15.181 b fat. The highest cow produced 60.481 b and the lowest cow 5.561 b.
The average for the 58,851 cows tested during March was 4171 b milk, 4.8 test, 20.061 b fat. The records are for a full 30-days period, and represents.- the production of all cows in milk.
