THE MANAGER’S REPORT.

The manager; of the Thames Vai-< , ley, Electric Power. Board supplied the following monthly report to terday’s board meeting : — DAIRY FACTORY SUPPLY. “Further; conferences were held dur-< in.g the month with the Chief Electrical Engineer, Public Works Depart* ment, and the N.Z. Dairy Co., both at Hamilton and at Wellington, with regard to supply to dairy factories, and a separate report on this matter is before you this day. TREES- ENDANGERING LINES. “Action is now being taken against owners whose trees are endangering the board’s lines, in. order to preivent repetition of interruptions as caused during last winter. CONSUMERS. “The total number of consumers connected to the board’s mains on April 30, 1928, was '5064. In these figures Thames and Te Arolia Bor-* oughs are pot included, the consumers in Thames Borough being 1056 and in Te Aroha Borough 625. During the month 18 lighting and heating consumers, 10 water-heaters, 4 electric ranges, and 5 motors on farms of which 3 were 2h.p. milking motors, were also connected'. There are now connected 1334 water-heaters :anid 236 electric ranges, and the total number of motors connected and running on farms is 1988, of which 1704 ar.ei 2 h.p. milking motors. In addition, 13 consumers had lighting and heating additions made during the month. NGATEA DEPOT. “This depot has now been closed aS far as a whole-time separate officer Is .concerned, but arrangements have been made for, the service to be continued by the troublemain. I am going into the question of stocks being held in the township for consumers, and if satisfactory arrangements can be. made this should mean a further service to the district. All consumers have been individually 'notified as to the change made.”
