Captain W. Searle, of the local Salvation Army Corps, who has been, in Auckland, where hq underwent a serious operation, is making good progress towards recovery, and is expected back at Paeroa to-morrow.
The Rev. Eric R. Alexander, who has been appointed to succeed the Rev. J. R. Hall as Methodist minister in charge, of Hauraki Plains, arrived in Ngatea. last Friday evening. He will be inducted at the Ngatea church to-morrow evening by the, Rev. Burley, of Thames, assisted by t,he Rev. Pickering, of Paeroa.
