THE PLAINS TOURNAMENTS. CONTINUED YESTERDAY. The Hauraki Plains; Tennis Association’s tournaments. ,were continued at the Ngatea Club’s courts yesterday, but again the absence of certain players prevented the competition being completed. At a meeting on Wednesday evening the association by a majority vote 'had deeded to give tho,se players w ,ho had been struck out for non-attendance another chance of playing their matches. However, only five matches were, played, and' three of the eight cvbnts are not yet completed. Following are the results of yesterday’s matches :—

Men’s Championship Singles.— Final : S. Coppins (Ngatea) beat V. O’Connor (Patetonga), 6 —o, 2—6, 6 9

Ladies’ Handicap Singles.—. Final: Miss Duffy (Patetonga) (owe 20’) beat Miss Cletworthy (Turua) (owe 5). 50—4.1.'

Men’s Handicap Singles-—Final : M. O’Connor (Patetonga) (owe 15) beat W. E. Murphy (Hopai) (owe 25). 70 — 62.

Mixed Doubles. —Third round : S. Coppins and Miss Chatfield (owe 10) beat W. E. Murphy and Miss Duffy (owe 25), -50—-48.
