THE SUNBEAM COMPANY.

ROYAL AUSTRALIANS AT PAEROA. TALENTED CHILDREN PERFORM. Snappy, bright, and decidedly clever is .an apt description of the Royal Australian Sunbeams, a talented company of 33 performers, who made their debut a tlie Aurora Theatre, Paeroa, on Wednesday afternoon, and again >at night. From the opening chorus, “Hullo, New Zealand!” to the finale, “Good-bye, Good Luck!” there was not a dull moment throughout the lengthy and cleverly arranged programme.

Of the vocal items probably -the gems were “Baby, your Mother” and “Cobber o’ Mine,” sung by Harry Usshor, the wonderful boy soprano. Little Jackie Clarke, Australians ■Jackie Coogan, was also very clever in various vaudeville items, and made himself very popular with the audience. Of the bevy of beautiful little girls any distinction, would be invidious. Suffice it to say that they were all excepionally good, and their'clever lianc’ng, demonstrating hundreds of steps, clearly displayed their ability and the thorough training they had received in. their art. “The wedding of Baby Doreen” was very well done, and was carried out by the children with all the pomp and dignity of a real society wedding. Included in the dance numbers were the Rpdiant Ballet, led by Alice Johnston ; Dance of the Cupids, led by Phyllis Robertson ; the Black Bottom (dance and song), led by Iris. Negus ; Grand Eastern. Fantasia, led by Alice Johnston ; the Dance of th e Dolls, led by Baby Doreen and tiny tots ; Butterflies and Roses, led by Noni Miles; and the Merry Twinklers, led by Valda Chute. Apart from the clever interpretation of the dances, a feature of the programme was the beautiful dresses of the company, none of which appeared on the stage more than once in the same dress.

/ A thrilling item was provided by th e Acrobatic Sunbeams, seven girls whose ages range from six years to seventeen years, in a series of amazing tumbling and twisting stunts. The talented performers received a hearty reception from the audience, and they can rest assured of a warm welcome on their return visit to Paeroa.
