KEREPEEHI SPORTS.
BASTER HONDA! EI'BNT. . An enthusiastic meeting of members of the Kerepeehi Sports Association was held on Friday evening, Mr J. M. Thompson presiding. Mr Harefield reported that a very generous response had been given by the business men of Paeroa to the appeals for donations. Only two refusals had bten, received. The chairman said that the response had been very gratifying indeed. ' . V It was 'deeded to send aill these supporters a complimentary ticket and a programme. Regarding the ground, Mr G. Courtney reported that the track was drj s but rough. Discing and rolling would bring lit into, really good order. It was decided to approach the lands drainage engineer , for the loan of a certain heavy set o€ discs and a heavy roller, and Mr R- Connor for the use of a tractor. An inspection of the ground will be made this afternoon.
Further officials appointed were: Chief steward, Mr W- Shilton ; clerk of course, Mr F. Mulgrew. Arrangements were made for blocks, hurdles, etc.
In connection with the placing of horses at the starting post, it was decided that in each horse event the first competitors tJ nominate would be given the'best positions.
It was explained that at the previous meeting the prize-money for one event had been claimed and paid to a wrong man. It was accordingly decided to right the matter 'immediately by sending a cheque to the rightfulwinner, Mr S. Nicholson, with a suitable explanation.
