The last New Zealand Gazette shows a return of the half-holidays observed by boroughs, town districts, and counties in the Dominion.
The following are the days observed by the boroughs, mentioned:: — Wednesday.—Pahiatua, Patea, Shannon, Upper Hutt, Woodville, Eastbourne, Foxton, Levin, Waipawa, Wliakatane, Arrowtown, Gore, Mataura, New Queenstown, Riverton. , Rcss, Sumner, Tapanul, W.aikouaiti, Winton; Hokitiki, KUmara, and Lawrence. Total, 24. Thursday.—Raetihi, Taihape, Waimate, Ohakune, Brumner. Total, 5. Saturday.—Paeroa, Thames, Balclutha, Bluff, Naseby, Roxburgh, Waihi, Alexandra, Cromwell, Hampden, Motueka, Palmerston South, and Richmond. Total, 13. In town districts 25 observe Wednesday, six observe Thursday, and 14 Saturday.
