KEREPEEHI.
OVERCROWDING OF SCHOOL.
With space for 85 children in, its two roooms the Kerepeehi school is now housing 118 scholars and four teachers. The Auckland Education Board has recommended the department to sanction additions, and the case has been classed as very urgent. The board has authorised the committee to hire a public hall or other suitable place, but so far this has not been done on account of staffing difficulties. SCHOOL PICNIC. The Kerepeehi School Committee has not yet decided whether a school picnic can be held this year. Having insufficient furfds to pay for transportation unless the picnic can be held on a Saturday, the committee is faced with strong opposition to this day by a section of the community. Complaint is also voiced l that in other districts the picnic is held ona school day, and thus the children gain a holiday.
