MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SITTING AT PAEROA, CIVIL LIST. At Monday’s sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Paeroa Mr F. W. Platts, S.M., gave judgment for plaintiff by default in the following cases : C. W. Watts v. J. Lardner, £l7 18s 2d, costs £2 14s; W. Butler v. T. Deane, £25 10s', costs £4 Is 6d ; F. Battso’n v. W. W. Scott, £l6, costs £2 15s ; Wallace Supplies, Ltd., v. J. R. Goonan, £9 15s, costs £1 Ils 6d. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Under a judgment summons tihe Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, sought to recover the sum of £BO 12s 5d from P. G'. Shirley. The debtor was examined, and in his, statement to the Court said that his November and December milk cheques were £42. After paying for labour, electric power, and living expenses .he had no nWney left. He was employed as a sharemilker and was milking '56 cows, but the milk yield was steadily decreasing. He was doing his. best and was willing to pay the debt, but at the present time he saw no’ prospect of making an offey.
The magistrate said it was not a case where an order c<)uld be made. E. E. Thompson was ordered to pay C. W. Watts the sum of £l5 16s 9d forthwith, in default 10 days imprisonment in Thames Gaol, the warrant to be suspended so long as debtor paid £3 a month. R. B. Dunlop was ordered! toi pay the McDonald Ice-cream Co., Hamilton, the sum of £2l ts’4d -forthwith, in default 14 days Imprisonment in Thames Gaol, the warrant talie suspended to long as debtor paid £5 a. month.
