WASTAGE OF WATER.
CTo the Editor.) Sir, —'in view of the great shortage' of. water in Paeroa I would 'be pleased if you-would insert the following in your paper. I understand the County Council have control of the water supply, anld to prevent any wastage or misuse they have one) of their employees travelling round in a motor car to see that the regulations are strictly enforced. This same person has a piece of ground adjoining the Old Te Aroha Road which, I understand, he has on lease, It would be more to his credit if 'he would sipend a fe,w minutes in fixing the water supply in the same paddockFor the past twelve months the water has been flowing out of an half-inch pipe without interruption, and on inspection to-day 1 find.it has created a miniature lake. Oud worthy councillors have said it is a. criminal offence to waste water, and yet the man they have placed i.n charge to guard their interests is not setting a very good example. If the supply of water is failing, the council should set a. good example, and place a genuine person in charge. 1
