SPARK IGNITES BENZINE. HANDS OF DREDGEMAN BURNED. In saving a dredge from being burned an employee of the. Lands Drainage Department, Mr Ivan Wilkins, had both his hands severely burned last Tuesday. A spark which jumped the points of a switch on a Delco lighting plant on a dredge on the Hauraki Plains reclamation work ignited some benzine, and to prevent the fire from spreading Wilkins, carried the burning container outsider and threw it into the water.
