EXAMINATIONS.

PAEROA SCHOOL RESULTS. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES. Once again the pupils of the Paeroa District High School have done exceptionally well ip the examinations whiih were held towards the end of la#t year. For the matriculation examination five passed, three of the pupils being in their third year at the; high school. A good record was put up by Fred Dare, who gained his. matriculation at the age of 14 years.

For the Public Service Entrance examination; six pupils passed, and three were in tliej first 50 of 111'5 candidates who passed in the Dominion. Joy Blyth gained fifth place for the Auckland province and tenth in the Dominion.

Following are the names of the successful pupils : — Matriculation. —Joy Blyth, F. Dare, Jeam Farrelly, Connie Silcock, Colin Ward.

Public Service Entrance. —Joy Blyth, Connie Silcock, Colin Ward, William Parry, Flora McDonald, Harry Williams.

Senior Free Place. —Six passed thq seven who sat for the inspector’s examination in August, making it unnecessary to sit in November. Junior Scholarship.—Mervyn Taylor.. '

During the year those who had passed the matriculation previously made full use of their time, two being crud’ted with a full pass in D and t,wo partial pass, failing in one subject alone. Two of these pupils also passed subjects for C.
