WEDDING BELLS.

WHELAN—O’CARROLL. An interesting wedding took place at St. Francis’s Church, Thames, last Wednesday, when Evaline, third daughter of Mr and Mrs D, J. O’Carroll, of Kopuarahi, Hauraki Plains, was married to Mr Roy Whelan (late of the Orongo School), second son of Mr and Mrs D. J. Whelan, of Epsom, Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Dignap. The bride was charmingly attired in a frock of ivory satin, the novel closely-fitting bodice falling in graceful folds to a transparent hem of silk net, daintily petalled in ivory and silver. Short puff sleeves of silk net, a large bow of the same filmy material at the waist line, and a shoulder flawer gave the flninshing touches to a graceful toilette. Her embroidered oval veil was caught with a coronet of. orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of pale pink carnations, white dahlias, and fern. Miss Madeline O’Carroll, sister of the bride, and Miss Thelma Sloane, of WhangareJ, were the chief attendants, and their frocks were carried out in mauve georgette with veils to tone, lightly trimmed with flowers and leaves. Their bouquets were at mauve sweetpeas and stocks. Little Miss Nita Green made a dainty flowergirl in her frock of shell pink crepe de chine? with touches of silver lace. Her veil was of pink tulle, and she carried a basket pif pink flowers. Mr Lqs. Whelan, brother of the bridegroom, and Mr Owen Kelly, of Auckland, acted' a® best man and groomsman. The bride’s mother wore a gown of navy crepe de chine, relieved with fawn, and a black hat with touches of crimsQn. Her bouquet was of crimson dahlias and sweetpeas. The mother of the bridegroom had chosen black crepe de chine, with which she wore a cyclamen crinoline hat, while her bouquet was of tangerine dahlias anld sweetpeas. ♦After the ceremony a reception was held at the Brian Born Hotel, Thames,
