LAST SATURDAY’S GAMES.

TWO WINS FOR PAEROA.

The Piako Cricket Association’s competition was, advanced a further stage on Saturday afternoon, when PaerOa A defeated Te Aroha B at Te Aroha and Paeroa B defeated Te Aroha A at Paeroa. Considerable interest was taken in the game at the local domain, where the home team secured a two-point win, time not permitting of a twoinrtings match being played. .

Paeroa won the toss and Lawrence and Roberts opened the account, the first wicket falling for 8 runs. Knight followed and gave a fine exhibition with the bat, scoring 28 runs, including five 4’s. Goonan with 11, was the only other batsman! to reach double figures. The innings produced 72 inns. The Hauraki Plains Cricket Association's inter-club competition was continued on Saturday last. The Turua-Kopuaraihi match at Turua. was a very slow game and the result was a draw, as Kopuarahi made, 76 runs and Turua. 32 for eight wickets.

The Orongo team: had its second win of the season, defeating Pipiroa by 8 runs in a onei-innings match. The outstanding batsmem were: Turua, W. W. Averill (20), A. H. Sutton (11 not out), and R. D-.
