THE PAIRS COMPETITION. v TOURNAMENT ON MONDAY. To-morrow five rinks, from the Paeroa Bowling Club will take part in an inter-club match against Waikino on the; Ideal green. The first portion of the club pairs competition has closed, and a. new departure is being followed this season. All players who have secured five wins or over hi the first portion of the. competition; are placed in a twolife section, while any player who scores less than five wins goes into a one-life section. By adopting the life system and making a draw for games it is hoped that keener competition will prevail, and there will be no tendency of a strong team securing several wins against weaker pairs, and the aggregate score counting to the winners. ARRANGEMENTS FOR MONDAY. Commencing at/ 9 o’clock on Monday morning (Anniversary Day), the club is holding a progressive pairs competition, for which trophies will be provided. Players intending to take; part are requested to place their names on the; board at the pavilion as early as possible. The Morrinsville Club is holding an ■open tournament at Morrinsville on Monday, at which Paeroa. will be represented by one rink, comprising C. Holes, G. Vowlqs, T. Hale, and W. Perston (skip).
