FINANCIAL STATEMENT. EXCESS OF INCOME £11,793. The statement of the finances of the Thames Hospital Board was received -by the Hauraki Plains County s at its meeting on Thursday last. The, income for the year ended March 31, 1927, was given as follows : Excess of income from previous year, £9307 9s Id; Government subsidies, £4356 12s Hd ; levies on local, bodies, £4013 14s 4d ; voluntary contributions, £46 8s ; rents' and interest, £69 15s; hospital patients, £9095 8s 10d; charitable aid (District Homes), £668 12s 2d ; bad debts, £134 5s -6d ; farm account,'£l22 19s 4d; £37 Bs. Total, £27,852 13s 2d. The expenditure for the year was set pint as follows : Hospital maintenance, £10,270 17s 9d; District Homes, £1243 18s id; charitable aid, £1906 7s lOd; general, £941 9s 21; hospital fees reduced, £687 0s 2d ; miscellaneous, £lOOl 10|s 2d ; unauthorised expenditure, £1 18s 4d ; leaving an excess of income over expenditure of £11,799 Ils Bd. Councillors commented, on the fact that’ the board had a balance, of income over expenditure to ca'rry forward df £11,799 Ils Bd. The clerk pointed out' that the statement of assets and liabilities showed as assets £6127 18s Id of patients’ fees up to March 31, 1927, and £9741 10s 9d for previous years, which with other items brought the total due to £18.713 Ils lid.
