His Worship the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) has been confined to his bed since Saturday last with an attack of influenza. On making inquiries this morning it was learned that he, felt much better.
• Mr A. F. Steedman, manager of the local, branch of the Bank of New Zealand, leaves Paeroia to-day on four weeks’ holiday. During his absence Mr R. L. Miller wall act as manager, and Mr H. O’Donnell, from the Thames branch, relieves Mr Miller as accountant.
Ensign W. Grove, who has been in charge of the Paeroa Salvation Army Corps during the last 18 months, has. been transferred to Tauranga. Captain W. Searle,. of Petone, succeeds Ensign Grove, an!d has entered upon his new duties.
