An invitation has been received by the Mayor (Mr W. Marshall) to attend the Grey District diamond jubilee celebrations at Greyinouth, to commence on February 25 and end °n March 3. At the Borough Council meeting on Thursday last the Mayor stated that he would be unable to accept the invitation, but perhaps Cr. E. Edwards (deputy-Mayof) would like to make the trip. On Cr. Edwards declining, it was decided to tliank the Grey District people for the invitation and to extend the council’s congratulations, and bast wishes for a successful time.
