ACCIDENT AT DEVONPORT.

SAD END TO A HOLIDAY.

Fatal injuries were, sustained by Freda Mackie, aged 10 years, daughter of Mr and Mrs F. Mackie, of Te Aroha, when she was struck by a motor-bus at the intersectiorf of. Old Lake Road and Fraser Road, Devonport, at 5.30 last evening.

The, girl, accompanied by her mother, was returning from the city to the house of Mr G. W. Crabb, in Fraser Road, where they were, staying for a holiday. Alighting in front of her mother, the child rain across tlie road, and was struck by a passing bus, driven by Mr Eric Cleal, ofi Devonport. The; back wheel passed over the girl’s body and she sustained grave injuries. She died a. quarter of, an hour- later.
