SUPPORT YOUR OWN TOWN.

CTo the Editor.)

Sir, —Bobble Burfis once wrote :—

“Would to God the, giftie gie us To see ourselves as others see us — It would frae many a blunder freje us And foolish notion.” .

N’pw, what I would like to point out is that there is a sports meeting to be held in P.aeroa shortly, and the. secretary, a local tradesman’s son, has seen fit to have his posters printed in Auckland. Have we not a local printery here that can turn put work equal to anything I have seen in this Dominion ? I say “certainly, yesj” and I should be in a, position to judge, having been in the printing line for over 30 years in Thames, Waihi, Ptikekche, Hamilton, and Paeroa. Supposing local residents followed in his footsteps and bought their goods in Auckland, while he stood at the door of his shop ; how would he fare ? 1 think he’s be like the wild jumping horses in the circus—“he’d buck.” Now, catch hold of yourself, Mr Secretary, and wake up to the fact that you should spend your money in the town in which you make it —and which supports, yoiu* sports.—l am, etc., “FRIDAY.”
