PLAINS RAINFALL.

AN AVERAGE YEAR. 184 WET DAYS IN 1927. The rainfall on the Hauraki Plains for last year, as gauged at the Lands Office, Kexepeehi, totalled 45.33 inches, which is 2.21 inches above the average annual fall during the last 14 years. Rain fell on 184' days which is just over half the days in the year. The wettest month was July, with 6.29 inches on 22 days, and thei driest month was October*, with 2.04 inches on 8 days. The gauging during December last registered 2.92 inches on 14 days, the heaviest fall being for the 24 hours ending at 8 a.m. on Christmas Day, when 1.54 inches were recorded.
