PAEROA STOCK SALE.
SMALL YARDING OFFERED.
RULING PRICES MAINTAINED.
- The first stock sale this year at thA Paeroa yards was held by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co-. Ltd., on Monday. Owing to the holidays the yarding of stock was below the average, but there was a good attendance of buyers and practically every pen changed hands, either under the hammer or by private treaty. Dairy stock sold readily, but there was only a small yarding of beef cattle, which were of fairly rough quality. The following is an indication >f the prices obta’ned:—
Best dairy cows and heifers, up to £9, other sorts £7 to £8 10s; aged cows, £4 to £6 ; beef cows, £6; good forward-conditioned cows £4 10s to £5 ss, others £3 10s to £4 5s ; rough and old cows £2 to £3 ss.
