THAMES HOSPITAL.

MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD. ROUTINE business: The monthly meeting of the Thames Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held on Monday, the chairman (Mr W. E. Hale) presiding over Messrs P. E. Brenan, A. R. Robinson, J. W. Danby, W. J.’ Hall, E. L. Walton, C. W. Parfitt, C. W. Kennedy, C. W. S. Flett, and G. Tpnge (secretary). MEDICAL ASSOCIATION. The Patetonga Medical Association forwarded a cheque for £25, being the half-yearly contribution to the resident district nurse fund. BENEVOLENT LEAGUE. The Hauraki Ladies’ Benevolent Society forwarded accounts amounting to £7 19s 2d, and advising that the usual monthly contribution would be required this month, as there was sufficient money in hand to meet current needs. LEASE. OF SECTION. An application was made by Mr Walla.ce Kerepeehi, for the grazing rights over the board’s property at Kerepeehi An undertaking was given that if the application was ganted the property would be kept clean, and at least one acre a year would be cleared and grassed. Should the board require to utilise the property for its own use three months’ notice would be given.

The chairman said that he favoured granting the application. To Mr Danby the chairman said that at the present time the board was not paying rates on the section. If the board leased the property the question of whether it was rateable remained to he considered. It was agreed to lease the area, and that the matter of drawing up the lease and details be left in the hands of the chairman, and secretary with power to act.

ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £1146 18s 3d were passed for payment.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS.

At the conclusion of business tlie chairman extended best wishes for a Merry Christmas and happy a.nd pros-, perous. New Year to the members, staff, and Press, and expressed the hope that they would all. meet again in good heart in February, 1928. On behalf of those present Mr Danby thanked the chairman for his seasonal greetings, which he assured him were heartily reciprocated.
