The Auckland Education Board has accepted the tender of Mr JBramble, junr., (£235), for the purchase of, the ’schoool building at Waitckauri for removal.
The New Zealand Times building at Wellington was offered at auction on Wednesday. The bidding commenced at £50,000 and went up to £60,000, at which figure it was withdrawn, the reserve price not being reached by some thousands.
At New Plymouth on Wednesday two young men were fined £4 each for making excessive noises when riding motor cycles, the magistrate remarking that this intolerable nuisance must be abated.

A young Maori, Andrew Tuku Rangi, appeared before Mr Justice Herdman at the Supreme Court at Hamilton last Friday for sentence on a charge of breaking and entering and theft at Tirohia on November 12, and of forging a cheque to the value of £2O. The probation officer’s report stated that accused had been more foolish than evil. Nothing of value had been lost by accused’s act’on. Accused was admitted to probation or two years and was ordered to pay £2 13s 2d.
The ‘Hauraki Plains Tennis Association’s semi-final matches! for the Howell Williams Memorial Shield will be played to-morrow, the Waitaharupu team playing at Kerepeeihi ajid the Ngatea team at Patetonga.

A young man named George Lee, of Karangahake, sustained painful injuries this morning. Mr Lee, who is employed by the Public Works Department, was descending a steep hill from his home when the motorcycle he was riding got out of control. Gathering speed down the hill, the cycle dashed across the main road and over the bank, finally coming to 'rest near the old morgue. The rider was thrown, and he landed on a heap of old wire rope, sustaining abrasions to his limbs and face, and also received bruises. Mr Mrs Maclarn, of Karangahake, assisted Mr Lee to his home, and it will probably be a. few days before lie is fit to resume work. The motor-cycle was not seriously damaged.
