A story of the Hon. E. W. Alison and the New Zealand poet, Tom Bracken, was told by Mr Montaghe at his recital at Hamilton last week. When ‘‘Not Understood’’ was first published in the newspapers, and the author was unkno'wn, Mr Alison, who, said Mr Montague, did everything .well, whether it was running a ferry • service or reciting a poem, recited it at a concert at Devonport. At the end he received a great tribute of thanks from a shabby-looking individual who rose in the hall to say how much he, as author of the poem, had appreciated Mr Alison’s rendering. There is a lurking danger in the aching back. The aches and pains ► of the back tell of kidneys over--7 worked. Go to the kidney’s assistance when backache pains warn you. A kidney warning should be promptly heeded, for gravel and urinary troubles are only a step away. Read how the danger can be averted: Mr Jos. Glasgow, Hikutaia, near Jjperoa says: “ I obtained a bottle of Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills, a& I wished to try them‘for backache, a complaint from which I suffered considerably. I am pleased to inform you that they relieved the pains in a short time, and eventually banished them completely. I think the backache was caused by a strain from heavy lifting. Doan’s Pills _jbroved just the remedy needed; they jjfyjured me, and. I am quite all right now. All who suffer from sore and aching backs should take Joan’s Backache Kidney Pills.” /
