THAMES V. PAEROA.
LOCAL TEAM FOR TO-MORROW,
The first inter-club tennis match under the aegis of the recently formed Thames Valley Lawn Tennis Association will be contested to-morrow afternoon, when the Paeroa and Thames teams will meet on the local courts at 2 o’clock. The Paeroa team will be selected from the following players : Misses V. and H. Shand, J. Ellis, C. Taylor, K. O’Grady, Messrs Ruston, McMillan, H. Thorp, F. Thorp, Bluck, and Stoedman.
WILLIAMS SHIELD COMPETITION.
THE ELIMINATING ROUNDS
The, draw for the, eliminating round for the Howell Williams Memorial Shield competition, which is under the control of the Hauraki Plains Tennis Association, has resulted as follows :—
December 3. —Kopuarahi at Waitakaruru, Kerepeehi at Mangawhero, Hopal at Ngatea, Patetonga, a bye. The second round will be played on December 10, and the, team winning the third round will play the Turua team, which holds the trophy.
No reply was received from the Hikutaia or Netherton clubs to invitations to take part in the competition.
