A Feilding resident took a risk with a sitting of eggs a fortnight ago, but received a pleasant surprise. A br°ody .hen had been set for hatching. After performing her duty for a period of eight or ten days, she left the nest. The poultry fancier then gathered the eggs and placed them in a cupboard below his electric hot-water service, where there was an assurance of a constant and even temperature. Young Power had sixpence flor his fare home, but he gave his mates the sixpense and walked. Tire, boys’ ticket won and each received £ll3 as his share.
