LUNCH ON WET DAYS.
CARE OF
SUGGESTION AT TE AROHA
The following is a circular issued to parents from the head teacher of the Te Aroha District High School: A full hour for lunch on wet days usually means for children a miserable time spent in sheds with frequent excursions into the 'rain. This is highly detrimental to health. We propose therefore: To shorten lunch time on such days to 30 minuteg; to dismiss 30 minutes early ; and to allow children to lunch in school if they wish. Parents not living in the immediate vicinity of the school will assist by giving their children cut lunches on wet days. If this be not quite convenient, the teachejrs will send home only the oldest member of each family that he or she may bring back lunch for the other members. these means it may be assured thatonce at school a child will be kept dry all day. Any pupil arriving wet will be at once sent home. We hope for your full co-operation in this important matter.
